One of the most common crits and critiques I get are that my colors are too saturated. If anyone has any suggestions on how to correct this problem I'd appreciate it. I have colored and then desaturated the pics but I still get the "too saturated" comments. HELP ME!?!? Thanks!

on this particular piece, I'd say the larger problem would be to help separate the figure from the background... once the planes of depth have been sorted out... THEN focus on the saturation dilemma. One way reduce the saturation level is to go to "Image" >> "Adjustments" >> "Hue and Saturation" and play around with that... if everything is in different layers/channels... each separate layer can be adjusted to your hearts content.

First off, saturated colors aren't usually a problem. The problem arises when the colors don't harmonize. I'd suggest reading up on color theory and start trying to implement simple color schemes in your coloring work through the lighting you use. Simple complimentary or tetradic color schemes usually work well with comic material. Even if you have a good scheme though, one thing that can help a lot is to make sure one of your color choices is the focal point while the others recede back. So, in that sense, it's ok to push the saturation on your primary color if you hold back on the compliments of it. Hope this helps!
Thanks eraserx! I am still fairly new to coloring and this is one of the first pieces I colored almost a year ago. Check out the Blowtorch pic and give me an honest critique on it. I know I still have a LOT to work on but I am trying to better myself. Thanks for the critique!
